This week’s StandardVision artist takeover on the SVLA1 screen at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Downtown, Los Angeles features work by photographer Maik Lipp. Lipp is the latest artist to be invited to take over a two week-long recurring 15-second spot to showcase their work to the public.
Maik Lipp is a self-taught photographer from Germany. Self taught and currently based in Frankfurt, Lipp runs his own photography and design studio, URSDCK, where he focuses on his passions; architecture, minimalism, landscapes and cityscapes. His commitment to this passion is evident in his resulting work. It is effortless, curated and shows a keenness for simplifying the world around us.
Speaking of his artistic philosophy, he says, “The simplicity and the calm embodied by the buildings is what I love. And this is what I want to convey in my photographs.”
Lipp has captured the geometry of buildings across the world from Miami to Singapore to Lisbon and more. His ultra minimalist series, entitled Mixed Minimal I and Mixed Minimal II has garnered worldwide praise and his work has been featured in numerous publications, including Ignant, Fubiz, and the Huffington Post to name a few.
You can catch Lipp’s work on the SVLA1 screen through May 21 as well as on his Instagram here.
